It all started when ...

I did my first yoga class. In that 90-minute session, I decided that I was going to teach this for the rest of my life. Ironically, I also hated yoga, because it forced me to face myself (my ego, my limitations, my weaknesses, my whole self) for the first time. It was confronting, but I knew yoga would help me become a healthier and happier version of myself.

I became a yoga teacher in 2014. Instead of joining an established yoga studio, I wanted to share the practice with people who do not traditionally have access to yoga. That’s when I started knocking on different doors, and I stumbled into a youth trust, which guided me to a youth justice center. That's when I discovered my passion for working with young people.

I founded Yoga by Kotte to share the practice of yoga and inspire people to improve their lives. I am dedicated to the service of others – nourishing and educating the bodies and minds of New Zealand communities. Centering personal connection, my yoga practice encourages everyone to feel comfortable in their own skin.

Yoga saved me and gave me back my life. That's why I want to start this journey with you.
